This morning standing in the kitchen making coffee, I saw Mallard ducks on the lake. In the group was a white duck with a black head. I have never seen one like this before. My excitement cannot be understated. . . .

Filling up the feeders in the winter is a pain, but is truly worth it. The birds were having a Christmas party out there this morning. The house finches with their red looking vibrant.

Today was in the high 50's and sunny, although a bit windy. The deeper part of the lake is still frozen, the wind was whipping the water. The seagulls love the wind and are fun to watch.

At the harbor in Santa Barbara, I started taking photos of the Bird of Paradise, they were entirely out in full bloom. The hummingbirds looked like they were in paradise.
